Friday Night Singles

For those of you who aren't aware, Scott is the Singles pastor at our church, Big Valley. This in itself as been an answer to our prayers. After working almost a year in a part time postion as Singles pastor and still having to work full time at the hospital, we were excited to be able to come on full time as of July 1st. This post is to praise God for our first Singles meeting on a Friday night. Previously, there were two singles groups, one meeting on sunday mornings and one sunday nights. After much discussion and prayer the decision was made to switch to one group meeting on Friday nights. Scott and his singles leadership team have been working hard to prepare for this change. Last night was our first Friday night meeting and it went great. We started with a BBQ and antique car show. We had a total turnout of about 85--which is definately up from our normal 20 on Sunday morning. God definately blessed the evening, so now we continue to pray for his direction and blessing. The singles community can often be an unreached people group, especially in the church. We would appreciate any prayers for this ministry as well as Scott as he forges ahead.
